The Nomads Extreme Sports Collection: Surfing, Wakeboarding & Windsurfing

Description
The Nomad’s Anthem: “To experience cultures so rich in simplicity, to be consumed by a lifestyle, to live every second of everyday, to see and learn and to never say I can’t … “

With gorgeous footage and non-stop action the NOMAD’S series presents the select few who know how to live on the edge, exploring extreme sports lifestyles filled with adrenaline for the sport, the place and the competition.

In this series, meet world class athletes who comb the earth for the most challenging and remote spots to put their extraordinary skills to the test. When they find them, they give it their all, pushing themselves to the edge of perfection.

This DVD presents three episodes from the Nomad’s series:

Part 1: Wind and Surf on Maui
Experience the action at the premier windsurfing location in the world – Hookipa Beach, Maui, Hawaii – with World Champion, Kauli Seadi. This Brazilian athlete was the Professional Wind Surfing Association’s champion, in the wave discipline, in 2005, 2007 and 2008. He is currently ranked number two in the world. Travel with Maui local hero and windsurfing legend, Keith Teboul, Kauli’s mentor, as they explore the beauty and mystique of Maui, and prepare for the ‘Aloha Classic,’ the final stop on the World Wavesailing Tour. With Athletes: Kauli Seadi & Keith Teboul

Part 2: The Long Brothers Surf Odyssey
The Long Brothers are two renowned surfers with a long list of accomplishments in the surfing world. In this episode we watch them kick back, surfing their home-break in San Clemente, California and follow them as they embark on an adventure into Mexico to catch the perfect wave. For this journey they travel to one of their favorite big wave breaks, the Island of Todos Santos, just thirty miles from the American border, yet far enough to be a big wave destination like no other. With Athletes: Greg Long, Rusty Long, Grant “Twiggy” Baker

Part 3: Wakeboarding Hero
World Champion wakeboarder Andrew Adkison takes viewers on a high-flying tour of the Florida wakeboarding scene. Go with Andrew to Orlando, Florida, the heart and soul of professional wakeboarding, where he teams up with Chad Sharp, Rusty Malinoski and Brian Grubb for some mind-blowing action. See what it takes – on the edge of the wave – to be a wakeboarding, wakeskating, and cable riding professional. With Athletes: Andrew Adkison, Miles Armstrong, Brian Grubb, Rusty Malinoski, Chad Sharpe, Chad Reese

Why does he ignore me?

I spent a week in California with this family & there was this guy that I hung out with almost every day. He gave me rides to places and he even took me snowboarding! He promised to teach how to snowboard, which he did. Everything was fine until the day he took me snowboarding, we got to know each other better during the car rides and he seemed like a very caring “friend”… He did a lot of things that hint he likes me; for instance, when I thanked him and mentioned “snowboarding was sweet!” he replied “your face is sweet!” On our way home, I was tired and he told me it was ok to fall asleep… When I woke up, he reacted a bit different. I asked “How’s driving?” and in the most uninterested voice, he answered “It’s whatever!” When we get back home, he ignored me completely, he even shut his room door, which he hadn’t done before and ignored me the next day.

2 days later, we went to Chinatown, someone else was driving and I was sitting in the back of an SUV with him. He kept moving around, finding his comfort zone to take a nap. He then moved to the back seat and “pretended” to fall asleep because later on that day, he told me he saw me texting in the car… which means he was watching me! He’s a magician, and he told me he always impresses girls he likes with his magic card tricks, which he showed me at least 6 times but I acted like I wasn’t impressed @ all. Anyway, my point is that he noticed me and even tried to impress me and when he dropped me off at LAX, he seemed sad that I was leaving.

I was late for my flight so as soon as he dropped me off, he called to check up on me. I told him I got another flight & that I’ll talk to him later. I called him later, but I didn’t talk to him, instead I gave the phone to my mom. She actually wanted him to go oversea with her on a business trip… During the call, he asked if I was coming along as well – my mom said no because I have school… He went quiet once my mom told him that.

Later that day, I called him again but he didn’t pick up. I requested him on facebook and he accepted my friend request but he didn’t reply to my text message or any of my calls. A couple days after he accepted me on facebook, he deleted me off of his facebook’s friend list.

Do you think he liked me? What’s wrong with him? Did I do something wrong? I have a video of our car ride, let me know if you want to see it.

SOU or CSUCI for College?

I want to be a psychology major and im really stuck in terms of colleges. I know in the end its my choice, but im not sure If im passing up a no brainer here to stay in my comfort zone.

They basically have equal psychology programs, but completely different pros and cons.

SOU is in Ashland Oregon, and CSUCI I in Camarillo California

SOU Pros:
-10 Hours Away By Car (Im Far Away, and On My Own)
-Town Basically Attached to College w/ Lots of Hangouts
-Freshmen can’t commute, lots of campus life
-Good Psych Program
-Masters program
-Snowboarding 15 Minutes Away, $50 Season Pass
-$11,600 Scholarship Per Year
-50% More Sunny than Portland or anywhere else in oregon

Sou Cons:
-Rain/Snow
-Dorms/Housing (Older Dorms, Not that great)
-Community Bathroom Type Deal (Lots of People to a Bathroom)

CSUCI Pros:
-State of the art Campus (New)
-New Dorms, Realllly Nice
-Still In California (20 mins from my house but im still living on campus)
-I Know people going there
-Good Psych Program
-Surf Beaches 5 Minutes Away (I Surf)
-Snowboarding 2.5 Hrs Away
-Still Kind of in My Comfort Zone

CSUCI Cons:
-Close to home
-Lots of Commuters
-Potentially boring, I Asked one of the students what there is to do and she said she has to drive into other towns to find stuff to do often
Psychology is good at CSUCI too
